Lake effect 3 to 6 inches snow with wind gust 35 mph tomorrow

NWS Urgent Winter Weather Advisory updated 3:57 pm EST Monday
Impacting Madison and Southern Oneida Counties including the cities of Hamilton, Oneida, Rome, and Utica

Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Tuesday 10 am to Wednesday 7 am
Lake effect snow expected with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with winds gusting to 35 mph

Plan for slippery road conditions to impact the morning or evening commute Tuesday. The heaviest snowfall expected to occur Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.

Floods and streamflow update from USGS WaterWatch
By 4:26 pm Monday all coastal and Hudson River estuary flooding has receded below flood stage and below 99th percentile levels. Earlier today coastal flooding along south shore of Long Island Shinnecock Bay at Ponquogue, East Rockaway Inlet at Atlantic Beach and Great South Bay flooding at Lindenhurst has all subsided by late afternoon. Hudson River estuary was recorded flooding at Piermont and Hackensack River hit 99th percentile high flow at West Nyack early afternoon today. Drought map tilts toward normal from USGS WaterWatch
Much above normal streamflows through the northeast and central drainage basin Monday. Below and much below normal flows in Genesee River watershed in the west has one system offering a low reading, that being Caneseraga Creek above Dansville. The low reading here today is double the low flow we saw here exactly one month ago.

Three watersheds show up on the New York USGS Drought map Monday. Genesee and Allegheny River watersheds appear below normal. One channel in the Niagara - Lake Erie watershed remains below normal, the north Erie County, south Niagara County.

HABs update from NY DEC HABs Notifications Center
No more active HABs remain in NYS as on Monday. Highlights of the 2023 HAB season will be available in the coming weeks, watch for more information here.

Drinking Water Matters
According to the city's webiste, the BWA in Mechanicville was lifted Sunday. A city-wide BWA was issued Thanksgiving day following a water main break on South Main Street at the top of Underwood Avenue Wednesday. The advisory will be officially rescinded by County Health authorities when water tests indicate potability.

Hazardous Spills the latest reports released from NY DEC as reported to the NY Emergency Spill Hotline 1-800-457-7362
A collision between a tank truck and commercial vehicle at US-11 near Moira caused a spill of 300 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway. No impact to state waters is noted in this report. A spill of 220 gallons of home heating oil was reported occurring on Thanksgiving Day in a private residence in Westbury, Nassau County.
