Scriba BWA extended to Tuesday
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Oswego County: The Town of Scriba remains under BWA until at least tomorrow. Two water main breaks last week Tuesday during the cold spell caused water pressure to drop throughout the distribution Water mains on City Line Rd and County Route 4 have been repaired, the BWA was applied for all residents connected.
Scriba WD chlorinates and distributes potable water purchased from another facility in Oswego County to a population of 9044. The EPA compliance record is neat and tidy, no violations or non-compliance noted as of the last verified reporting cycle. The raw water source is surface water in the Lake Ontario minor tributaries watershed, east section.
The new Serious Violator list is out, 56 drinking water facilities listed with significant violations of the SDWA as of Sep 30, 2024. The new summary report is in progress. Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS streamflow monitors in NYS
Streamflow levels remain mostly below normal in the west, south and central drainage basin. Seasonal normal flows continue in the northeast although the stream gauges are now ice impacted.
Severe drought has been relieved in Lower Hudson River's Putnam and north Westchester Counties, downgraded to moderate drought over the weekend. The full area of west interior NYS is rated below normal, the northeast remains drought free. There are no active floods and no extreme high or low flows.; extreme low flows can be found on the front page map with the red-brown tags.
Melting Monday in the city, 32 degrees on the way to a daytime high of 39 with sunshine. Binghamton is looking at a day of gusty winds with snow squalls today, it is fair, 19 degrees with a high of 34 degrees. In the north, a high wind warning in effect until tomorrow morning. A 30 percent chance of snow after 5pm today with wind gusts as high as 55 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected during the day. More snow is expected overnight, mainly before 5am with areas of blowing snow between 8pm and 1am. It will be cold overnight, low around 2 degrees, the 55 mph wind will continue through the night with two to four inches of snow accumulation possible.
