NWS: Urgent winter weather message - up to six inches of snow coming tonight in the north

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST TUESDAY
Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches in Franklin, southeastern St. Lawrence, and northern St. Lawrence Counties.

Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes.

Streamflow Situation from the network of US Geological Survey streamflow gauges in NYS
Fair and 36 degrees in the city, the high expected today is 45 F. Southwest counties overcast and just below freezing, 31F heading for a high of 45 today. A low pressure system will bring a potential wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain Wednesday night into Thursday. Exact precipitation types and amounts remain uncertain at this time. This could impact the Thursday morning commute. Upstate north, fog-mist and 21 degrees, slight chance of snow today with a high 33, an urgent winter weather advisory going into effect 1pm today until 7 am tomorrow, up to 6 inches of snow for Franklin, southeastern St. Lawrence, and northern St. Lawrence Counties. In Vermont, eastern Franklin, Lamoille, Orleans, and Essex Counties.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Montgomery County: Amsterdam experienced a shutdown at the water plant Friday, the outage prompting a BWA for customers on Locust, from Prospect to Wallin, Shuler McKinley, Harrison, Hayes, Garfield, Taft, Roosevelt, Grand, Milton, Vanderveer, Merrill, Belmont Place, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Avenue, and Park Street.

Cayuga County: Throop put out a BWA Thursday following a water main break. Customers connecting on Donovan, Canoga Northrup, Nugent, Youngs, Webster, Griffin, McDonald Roads, and Turnpike Road from 1412 to 1916 are impacted until further notice.
