Low streamflow recorded on Long Island Creek
Streamflow Situation from the USGS New York Water Science Center network of monitors
Measured water levels in the southeast have been getting lower by the day, much below seasonal normal with an extreme low recorded on Long Island after a record snowfall and rain event on the weekend. The drought map has Mohawk River channel at moderate drought, matching the Lower Hudson River watershed area east of the Hudson River, also rated moderate drought. Oswego River Finger Lakes watershed is rated below normal, as is the remaining area of Lower Hudson watershed not already rated moderate drought.
Freezing in the city Monday morning after what may have been the biggest snow and ice deluge of the year. According to the NWS, more snow is likely Tuesday night. More to follow.
NYC and Long Island have had to dig out from up to 5 inches of snow accumulation overnight Saturday night. See what the weather observers reported for the Saturday night storm, we have selected the highest snow values recorded for each county:
- Bronx - 1 ENE Fordham 4.6 inches
- Nassau County - Muttontown 5.1 inches, Jericho 4.9 inches
- Manhattan - Central Park 3.1 inches
- Orange County - Washingtonville - 4.1 inches
- Queens - Whitestone - 4.1 inches
- Rockland - Stony Point - 3.9 inches
- Suffolk County - 1 SSE Commack, Happague, Smithtown, Ridge 1.5 SE - 5 inches
- Westchester County - Armonk - 4 inches

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Chautauqua County: Village of Fredonia and Town of Pomfret customers have potable water service restored after a water main break and BWA last week. Fredonia Village water system serves 10,400 customers from a surface water source in Niagara River-Lake Erie watershed.
