A statement issued by NWS for Onondaga and Madison Counties

Lake effect snow showers are possible Wednesday into Wednesday evening. A few inches of snow accumulation will be possible. Isolated snow squalls may also briefly reduce visibilities.
The hazardous conditions could impact rush hour commutes. Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.

Floods and streamflow update from USGS WaterWatch
Current streamflows in central, northeast and southeast remain above normal to much above normal Tuesday afteroon. Wappinger Creek is no longer flowing high near Wappingers Falls, the high water level appears to have peaked Monday evening and has been declining steadily since. As of the afternoon update, the depth of water is down to 6.07, not presently at risk of flooding.
The west is still seeing below normal flows through the Genesee River watershed. Lake effect forecast for Oswego Finger Lakes and upper Mohawk River watershed tomorrow has been updated this afternoon highlighting Onondaga and Madison Counties to brace for lake effect Wednesday with sudden snow squalls. More to follow.

No USGS monitors are registering extreme low 1st percentile flow volume readings as of this update. No part of NYS remains on the drought map Tuesday.

Drinking Water Advisories
Fort Edward BWA remains in effect for customers connecting on Marion Street from Mechanic Street to Ridge Street until further notice.

Hazardous Spills the latest reports released from NY DEC as reported to the NY Emergency Spill Hotline 1-800-457-7362
The latest spill records uploaded for review were reported and or occurred on Friday, December 8. WTNY reports all hazardous materials spills impacting water, petroleum spills of more than a barrel and regulated toxic materials spills of any amount.

An abandoned vessel on the east shore of the Hudson River near the Waterford Bridge at Lansingburgh, Rensselaer County is reported leaking fuel, the NY DEC incident report puts the amount of the spill at 1 gallon.

A deliberate release of fire fighting foam (HFFF) is reported from the A10 dock in Astoria, Queens. The report indicates the release of 50 gallons of foam came from a commercial site at the dock, no impact to water is noted in the report. More to follow.

A bulk fuel tanker truck was involved in an accident that caused release of 1200 gallons of diesel fuel off 3600 block Middle Rd at Burdett in Schulyer County. No impact to water noted in the initial report.
