A statement issued by NWS for Onondaga-Southern Oneida-Madison-Northern Oneida Counties

Impacting Utica, Rome, Cicero, Oneida, Kirkland, Lenox, Lee, Verona, Westmoreland, and Vienna.

Gusty snow showers accompanied by winds of up to 30 mph along a line extending from near Boonville to near Vernon, including the following highway exits...Interstate 90 between 31 and 34 and New York Interstate 81 between 30 and 31.

Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.
Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.

Floods and streamflow update from USGS WaterWatch
Current streamflows in central, northeast and southeast remain above normal to much above normal Wednesday. As of this update, none of the gauges are registering extreme high flows or flooding.

Lower Genesee River flows remain below normal. None of the gauges are recording extreme low levels. Flows in Upper Genesee watershed are seasonal normal.

No part of NYS is rated on the drought map Wednesday.

WTNY reports all hazardous materials spills impacting water, petroleum spills of more than a barrel and regulated toxic materials spills of any amount.

Two large spills of heating oil were reported on a single day last week, 250 gallons spilled due to equipment failure in a private residence on Rollhaus Place in Port Chester, Westchester County. Another spill of 200 gallons reported due to human error at a mixed use commercial facility on Broadway in Manhattan.
