Flooding Delaware, Ramapo River watersheds
Lower Hudson Flooding
Up to the minute NY water news for Monday, December 18 - last updated 407 pm EST
National Weather Service issues Coastal Flood Advisory for Manhattan, Bronx issued 1039 am EST
Flood watch remains in effect through this afternoon until 6 PM EST this evening
Flood Advisory issued 417 am EST for Orange-Putnam-Rockland-Northern Westchester-Southern Westchester-New York
(Manhattan)-Bronx-Richmond (Staten Island)-Kings (Brooklyn)-Northern Queens-Southern Queens Counties
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts, are forecast across the watch area through this afternoon. The heaviest rainfall is expected to fall through the middle of this morning. The combination of heavy rainfall and the already saturated grounds will likely result in streams across the area experiencing rapid rises, resulting in flooding along low-lying and flood-prone locations.
