23 USGS stations in flood

Floods and streamflow update from USGS WaterWatchupdates in progress, more to follow
As of this update, 23 stations are reporting flooding in NY state including the Upper Hudson River from North Creek to Green Island. Susquehanna River and tributaries are still flooding from headwaters to the south state line at Waverly. Black River is flooding at Boonville, check black tags on the map to see where flows have peaked or are still rising. Lower Hudson River and Catskill tributaries flooding has peaked and passed, the Lower Hudson tributary Wappinger Creek is still flooding.

Delaware River and tributaries are no longer flooding however still running high. Ramapo River and tributaries are no longer flowing above flood stage on the NY side of the line Tuesday morning however Ramapo River is still a foot and a half above flood stage at Mahwah NJ.

Coastal flooding has receded with no more flooding expected, no active statements from NWS. None of the inland monitors on Long Island are in flood stage or high flow as of this update.

Hazardous Spills the latest reports released from NY DEC as reported to the NY Emergency Spill Hotline 1-800-457-7362
The latest incident reports available Monday morning are spills that occurred on Friday Dec 15.

A vessel is reported leaking an unknown amount of petroleum into New Town Creek at Long Island City. The report was made on Tuesday December 12. An unknown hazardous material is reported spilled from a commercial facility on Broadway in Queens. The amount of the spill is unknown. More to follow.

Champlain BWA has been rescinded.

The drought map has taken on more area Monday, Lake Ontario minor tributaries west section being added at the below normal rating over the weekend. Genesee River watershed in its entirety remains on the map rated below normal while the Niagara River- Lake Erie portion of Chautauqua County has escalated from below normal to moderate hydrologic drought. Interesting to note the west basin Lake Erie has seen an extended period of severe drought from northwest Ohio. Lake Erie flows into Lake Ontario via Niagara River.
