WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST TUESDAY...Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze in portions southeast New York and northeast New Jersey from 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Tuesday. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute. Sub freezing road temperatures should allow snow to accumulate overnight.
Slow down and use caution while traveling.
Streamflow Situation from USGS WaterWatch
Streamflows are above normal to much above normal in the Lower Hudson River watershed flowing toward NYC. One station is recording flows above the 99th percentile Monday afternoon. Mongaup River near Mongaup, a tributary of the Delaware River is still reporting a 99th percentile flow.
Upstate flows are mostly above normal with five stations recording above 90th percentile. In the northwest basin, flows are mostly normal to above normal with two stations recording 90th percentile, one creek in the Lake Ontario minor tributaries west watershed and another creek in Niagara - Lake Erie watershed near the outlet at Lake Erie. In the south drainage basin, flows are a mix of above normal and much above normal.
No extreme low flows are showing up this afternoon.
