WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...Heavy snow with total accumulations of 5 to 8 inches possible with winds gusting as high as 40 mph in portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.
Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
Snowfall amounts will depend on how quickly rain transitions over to snow. At this time, this looks to be around daybreak Tuesday.

National Weather Service Coastal Flood Advisory issued 159 pm Monday Feb 12
COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO NOON EST TUESDAY...1 to 2 ft of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline from 8 AM to noon EST Tuesday.
Several roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience localized minor flooding likely with the Tuesday Night high tide. Vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront may become flooded, with scattered road closures likely.
Impacting New York (Manhattan)-Richmond (Staten Island)-Kings (Brooklyn)-Southern Queens Counties in New York, Hudson-Eastern Essex-Eastern Union Counties in New Jersey.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Streamflow Situation from USGS current streamflow monitors in NYS
Hudson River breached flood stage at Poughkeepsie for a short time this afternoon, no longer flooding at the afternoon update. As of 4:37 pm Monday, no active flooding recorded in the network.
Drought Map USGS 7-day average streamflow against seasonal average
No part of NYS appears on the drought map Monday.
Drinking Water Matters
Chautauqua County Health issued a system-wide BWA for the Village of Fredonia on Thursday. The advisory was required after inadequately treated entering the distribution system.
