Hazardous Spills
The latest spill reports from NYDEC occurred on Sunday, Feb 18. There are 12 spill incidents recorded on this date - noted is an unknown amount of sewage spilled at an intersection on Imperial Blvd in Wappinger, as well as a 100 gallon diesel spill due to a traffic accident on Route 81 in Orleans.
9 other spills that occurred were petroleum spills and an additional sewage spill.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel. Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
