Much below normal flows creeping on Hudson River watershed
Little Delaware River high near Delhi

Water news for Sunday, February 25, 2024 1144 am EST


Streamflow Situation from USGS current streamflow monitors in NYS
Central drainage basin Hudson River and tributaries are falling below seasonal normal with tributaries of the Mohawk River registering much below normal Sunday. Lower Hudson River tributary Valatie Kill is much below normal Sunday. On Long Island, Massapequa Creek is still rated much below normal, Peconic River is below seasonal normal.

Delaware River has one tributary flowing 98% percentile Sunday, the Little Delaware River is flowing high near Delhi. Neversink River is still flowing over 94th percentile at Neversink. Raquette River in the St Lawrence watershed is running 92nd percentile at South Colton. To the east in St Lawrence watershed, the Oswegatchie river is much below normal near Oswegatchie. This location remains rated below normal on the drought map.

Niagara River - Lake Erie watershed monitored creeks remain below and much below seasonal normal. Five Lower Genesee River watershed tributaries are below normal Sunday. As of this report, none are at 1st percentile low.

A section of the St. Lawrence River watershed following the Oswegatchie River is rated below normal. The Lake Ontario minor tributaries west section, adjacent Niagara River - Lake Erie and Lower Genesee River watersheds are represented below normal on the drought map Sunday.
