The latest spill reports from NYDEC occurred on Thursday, Feb 22. There are 35 spill incidents recorded on this date - noted is an unknown amount of auto waste fluids spilled from a car fire which has gone into a retention pond.
200 gallons of diesel reported spilled due to equipment failure on Tift St in Buffalo.
Unknown amount of unknown material reported spilled from a gas station on First Ave in Manhattan.
30 petroleum spills and 5 toxic spills were reported on this day.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel. Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
