National Weather Serivce Hazardous Weather Outlook issued 353 am March 8

Ponding and stream rises may be possible Saturday due to a combination of saturated soils and moderate to heavy rainfall. Gusty winds could also lead to isolated power outages.

Snow squalls possible on Sunday becoming lake effect snow Sunday night into Monday with accumulating snow likely.

Drinking Water Matters
Amsterdam has issued a BWA following a water main break yesterday. The advisory applies to customers connecting on Evelyn St from Guy Park Ave to Phillips St, Stewart St from Evelyn Ave to Northampton Rd, Guy Park Ave from Evelyn Ave to Northampton Rd, Phillips St from Evelyn Ave to Northampton Rd, Lily St, Laura Lane, Machold Ave.

Streamflow Situation from USGS current streamflow monitors
Hudson River is flooding at Poughkeepsie Friday afternoon. Flooding ceased at Green Island around 730 am, currently four to five inches below flood stage.

Check black tags on the map for flood flow levels updated through the day, blue tags for 99th percentile flows, still watching for flooding.

West interior flows remain mostly above normal Friday. Four stations in the northwest remain much below seasonal normal. Six stations are recording 99th percentile high.

No extreme low flows are recorded in the network provisional data at the time of this report.

Drought Map USGS 7-day average streamflow against seasonal average
Lake Ontario minor tributaries west section is off the drought map Friday. Territory around the Raquette River channel through St Lawrence watershed remains below normal, along with the Niagara River - Lake Erie watershed north section and Lower Genesee River watershed.

NY DEC Emergency spill hotline takes reports of hazardous materials spills from anyone with knowledge of a spill. Professional responders are dispatched to contain spills and remove hazardous materials. Note that a spill of one gallon of home heating oil inside a residence is considered a large spill requiring professional response and cleanup. Ventilate the building and clear the area if a spill of fuel oil #2 occurs inside your home, and call the emergency spill line.
