Hazardous spills reported this week in NYS
The latest spill reports from NYDEC occurred on Sunday, May 12. Three spills were reported on this day. An unknown amount of gasoline was reported to have spilled from a Cumberland Farms Gas Station on South Central Ave in Mechanicsville, Saratoga. 109 gallons of gasoline was reported to have spilled from a Deli Express Gas Station due to an operation error on Park Rd in Batavia, Genesee. Last, an unknown amount of unknown material reported spilled from a milk tank roll over in Sanford, Broome

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel. Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
