Car accident in the Black River Watershed releases multiple fluids

For the week of July 8 - 14, 2024 updated July 10 1156 am EDT

The latest spill reports from NYDEC occurred on Sunday, July 7. One spill was reported on this day.

Black River Watershed: A traffic accident on State Route 12 resulted in unknown quantity's of milk, diesel, hydraulic oil and motor oil to be released on the road along Blue St in Martinsburg, Lewis County.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel.  Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
