The latest spill reports from NYDEC occurred on Sunday, August 11. Nine spills were reported on this day.
Atlantic Long Island Sound Watershed: On August 11th, an unreported amount of gasoline was deliberately released at a private home on Berkshire Rd in Great Neck, Nassau County.
Delaware River Watershed: A storm that took place on August 11th resulted in amounts of transformer oil to be released from a pole mounted transformer on Richerson Hills Rd in Sidney Center, Delaware County.
Niagara River Lake Erie Watershed: This past Sunday, on August 11th, Eggsperience Restaurant reported a deliberate spill of cooking grease on Main and West Ferry St in Buffalo, Erie County.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel. Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
