Dense fog has formed in the river valleys and near larger lakes across the region this morning reducing visibilities to a quarter mile or less at times. If traveling, be sure to allow for extra
time to reach your destination due to reduced visibilities.

Streamflow Situation from the USGS network of streamflow gauges
Streamflows continue to run mostly normal to above seasonal normal with a handful of stations rated below normal in the west interior, in the central drainage basin of the Hudson River toward Long Island Sound. Moderate drought hangs on in Putnam and Westchester Counties. As of this report, there are no extreme high or low flows recorded in the network.

The latest satellite image of Lake Champlain was captured September 13, this image is clear with open water HABs of 600 to 700 thousand cells per ml concentration back in Baie Missisquoi, after a two week period of no activity observed in the northeast water. St Albans Bay HAB appears localized along the north shore matching the concentration color scale for 700 thousand cells per ml. See the NCCOS color image of Lake Champlain here.
Two hundred and thirty one HABs are confirmed active Saturday morning, up from 200 yesterday at this time. Hemlock Lake and Findley Lake are back on the HAB impacted list for the weekend. A first HAB of the season was confirmed for Summit Lake in Washington County yesterday, the majority of reports still pertaining to the Finger Lakes. Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Clinton County: The Town of Champlain came under a Boil water advisory Wednesday, impacting customers connecting at certain addresses along Route 9. See the yellow tag on the map to the right for details. Town of Champlain to the right at 11091 to 11106 Rt. 9 (except #11101), 870 to 888 Route 11 and Northern Tier Way 2 to 6.
Chautauqua County: The Town of Pomfret experienced a water main break Tuesday, prompting a precautionary boil water order to take care of any microbiological contamination that may have entered the lines. Chautauqua Health issued the BWA impacting Webster, Ellicott, and Dahlberg Roads. A water conservation order was issued for the Town of Portland and the Village of Brocton. The Town of Pomfret operates various water and sewer districts within the Town, the population over 13 thousand as of the 2020 census.
