Hudson River flooding at Poughkeepsie

Coastal Flood Advisory issued 540 am Sep 20 from the NWS New York
COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT SATURDAY 9 AM TO 1PM
Coastal flooding and Hudson River flooding at Piermont ended mid afternoon, the Hudson River overflowing the channel upstream at Poughkeepsie by the end of the day. Hudson Bay is no longer flooding at Freeport, Great South Bay no longer flooding at Lindenhurst. Great Kills Harbor is no longer flooding at Great Kills, Jamaica Bay is no longer flooding at Inwood, East Rockaway Inlet is no longer flooding at Atlantic Beach, Hog Island Channel is no longer flooding at Island Park and Shinnecock Bay is no longer flooding at Ponquogue.

Streamflow Situation from the USGS network of streamflow gauges in New York
A coastal flood advisory has been issued for today and tomorrow, check the map to the right for blue tags indicating 99th percentile flows and-or action stage and black tags for active flooding. As of this report, no floods or high flows are recorded in the network. Two extreme low flows are recorded this hour, Hudson River is running 1st percentile at North Creek, a creek in the Niagara River - Lake Erie watershed also at the extreme low today.

The drought map has taken a down turn overnight in Lake Ontario tributaries west section in Niagara, Orleans and west Monroe Counties. Chautauqua County has a small area below normal in Allegheny River watershed again today. Niagara River - Lake Erie watershed remains below normal in north Cattaraugus County. Upper Hudson River watershed remains below normal in Essex, Hamilton and Warren Counties, Lower Hudson River watershed is no longer rated below normal through Putnam and Westchester Counties. As of this report, coastal flooding is anticipated this morning. As of this report, there are no extreme high flows or floods in the reference network.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Greene County: Village of Catskill encountered a water main break yesterday. A Boil Water Advisory has been issued for residents and businesses between the bottom of West Bridge Street to Abeel Drive until further notice.
