Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Fulton County: Johnstown is under a BWA today after a water leak was detected Friday on County Route 131A. A loss of pressure in the water line can allow microbiological contamination, the BWA is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the water until the leak can be repaired and the potability of the water is established by lab testing. This BWA applies to customers connecting on County Route 131A, Lagrange Road, and Hulbert Road until further notice. Johnstown Waterworks serves a residential population 8154 from a surface water source in the Mohawk River watershed. The system is well run with no EPA violations in the last three years. The last sanitary inspection was done in July 2022.
