Tractor-trailer unit takes off a fire hydrant in Montgomery County, Fultonville, Glen with the BWA

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Montgomery County: Fultonville Village Public Water System has had to issue a BWA for all of Fultonville Village and part of the town of Glen after a tractor-trailer unit took out a fire hydrant on the weekend.

Fultonville Village Public Water System serves 740 people from a groundwater well source in the Mohawk River watershed. See the yellow tags on the map to the right for the locations under BWA.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 AM EST TUESDAY

A period of moderate to heavy rain is likely late Tuesday night through Wednesday, which combined with snow melt will cause sharp rises on rivers and streams. Several waterways may approach minor flood stage late Wednesday into Thursday, along with some poor drainage and urban flooding is possible. The rain will end as heavy wet snow with a few inches of accumulation possible, especially across the higher terrain by Thursday.

Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in NYS
Fair in the city, 46 degrees with rain coming this afternoon, mainly after 1pm, between a quarter and half of an inch of new precipitation possible today. Tonight, 40 percent chance of rain before 10pm. Patchy fog after 4am, mostly cloudy, low around 45.

Current conditions upstate at Massena International - Richards Field, overcast 25 degrees with snow later today, high 27, freezing rain expected tonight and through to Thursday. Binghamton weather office is reporting overcast, 35 degrees with rain, high today 43. Rain will start this morning, mainly after 9am bringing a quarter to half inch of new precipitation.

Streamflows are below seasonal normal through the south and central drainage basins, relief is coming with this rain today. As of this report, there are no high flows, there are two record lows showing up statewide, one in the Lower Hudson River, Esopus Creek is part of the NYC drinking water supply. The other is Chemung River watershed, a tributary of the Susquehanna River flowing south to the Atlantic Ocean.
