Residents are still being asked to conserve water during this time. Further updates will be provided by the village in the coming days."

Whitehall declared the State of Emergency due to water system failure caused by low water supply. The boil water advisory was rescinded Sunday, with residents still asked to conserve water. The drinking water supply is Pine Lake in the Upper Lake Champlain watershed, extreme to severe drought for months reduced the water level in Pine Lake to the point of breaking the Town's water system. Monitored streamflow levels have recovered to seasonal normal values, 67th percentile flow on the Mettawee River near Middle Granville midweek with the lower Lake Champlain watershed experiencing much above seasonal water levels from the recent rains. The level of Lake Champlain north of Whitehall dropped steadily from mid September to its lowest level, 93 ft Dec 4. The water level in Lake Champlain north of Whitehall 95.19 ft deep as of this report. The trend recorded in USGS streamflow gauges can be generally indicative of the water level trend through the area.
