Atlantic Long Island Watershed: November 11th, unreported amounts of motor oil and diesel was released following a traffic accident on I-95 South in New Rochelle, Westchester County. November 10th, unreported amount of diesel was released from a vessel at Long Beach 3 miles from shore in Long Beach, Nassau County. Atlantic Ocean impacted.

Lower Hudson Watershed: November 9th, unknown amount of unknown material reported spilled from a vessel into Rondout Creek off Creek Locks Rd in Bloomington, Ulster County.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel.  Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
