Atlantic Watershed: December 9th, an unreported amount of an unknown material was released in a residential area on Aldrich St in Sayville, Suffolk County. December 8th, at Cumberland Farms Gas Station reported a spilled of gasoline and other material in unknown quantities off Main St in Dover Plains, Dutchess County. December 8th, 1559 gallons of dielectric fluid was released due to equipment failure on Gold and Water St in Brooklyn, Kings County.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel. Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
