Atlantic Watershed: January 12th, an unreported amount of raw sewage was released due to equipment failure at a private residence on Shell Drive in Glen Cove, Nassau County. January 15th, an unreported amount of an unknown material was discharged from abandoned drums on East 222 St in the Bronx, Bronx County. January 16th, an unreported amount of an unknown material was discharged which has created a strong sulfur odour on Villas Circle in Melville, Onondaga County.

Oswego Watershed: January 12th, 10000 gallons of milk was discharged due to equipment failure on Horizon Park Dr in Penn Yan, Yates County. January 16th, an unreported amount of kerosene reported spilled due to equipment failure on Saintsville Rd in Kirkville, Onondaga County.

Lower Hudson Watershed: January 16th, an unreported amount of waste product released at a private residence on State Route 209 in Kerhonkson, Ulster County. On January 16th, 150 gallons of unknown material was released due to equipment failure in Ravena, Albany County.

Delaware River Watershed: January 16th, an unreported amount of unknown material was released near Kiamsha Lake on Route 42 in Monticello, Sullivan County.

DEC receives upward of sixteen thousand spill reports each year; each report is investigated by qualified personnel.  Report files are closed when it is determined the spill is contained and under the control of the spiller or state authorities and a clean up plan is in place or completed.
